Polar Illusions Part II: Seasons Of Storms

by Olli Kivelä

/
1.
Warm winds die out as the red sun falls in to the sea of shadows My souls recalls the cold and the pain and nothing will remain And the darkness descends, as the night falls upon the meadows but the memories of what once was and someday will be again Withering leaves fall down to the ground like the rain of fire Colors of remembrance of the life that fade away, Wind howls with the breath of the coming winter colors of life decaying in the darkness In the eye of the storm a new world is born With glimpse of an eye we all live and die Every day is a chance Every night might be the last Before the tides of darkness wash over dead lands again Rain and wind whip the raiders in the storm feeding horrors of the lonely mind Fate and hope of new life that will be born soothe the weeping soul As I walked in the shadows of the valley of death I could feel the creeping cold winter's breath Am I the only one left in the world? Am I the only one dead to the world? Is there no one to hear my cry? Is there no one beside me when I die? Am I the only one? Haunting darkness shadows my path Every breath might be my last Pacing against the howling wind Still I'm searching my lost peace of mind Symphony of blowing wind and pouring rain Ripping torment and smothering pain Storm winds cry with tears of pain Hurting waves caused by the pouring rain Colors of life, once vivid, fading away To be once awakened to see another day And for one blink at a time I can see the stars through the eyes And for a while I can see the sun again as the world whirls around in silence (beautiful silence)
2.
Hear the thunder of the earth, from the seas far beyond I can feel the ground tremble as the forces break free Against the wind I trample as frozen stars fall fast I recall the decaying colors of life in the dreams past Cadaverous wind howls with the scream of passing winter I dream of life beyond this time, to light the darkness Hear the thunder of the earth, from the seas far beyond I can feel the ground tremble as the forces break free Cosmic symphony playing strings of the world Bells of the universe ringing with endless echoes Eyes of the world are closed in the nightless dreams Why the demons we face are our own making? Will you rise with the sun or dream away in the night? Cosmic wars shake the stars eyes of the world are open wide while you sleep in endless dreams hoping for day to come Storm winds cry with tears of pain Hurting waves caused by the pouring rain Colors of life, fading away Once awakened to see another day Storm winds carry breath of the wild Awakening from death, from another night In eye of the storm I see my peace of mind From dead of night to the day's first light Hunting high hunting low show me which way to go I’m lost in these days of sorrow guide my path for better tomorrow Lost and found my ardent sun Now I know how the tale begun Save me now set me free I’m challenging my destiny Warm winds and soothing rain Glimpse of life once again Ease my heart, ease my soul Take away lingering pain

about

This album is about the stormy seasons between the summer and the winter. About descending into darkness of the winter while watching all the life force of the summer wither away and then wakening to a new summer when warm southern winds bring the last snowstorms of the winter.

I'm a metalhead who likes fast tempo, heavy riffs, epic orchestrations and a nice balance of clean and growling vocals. In most of areas I'm self-taught. I'm also a DIY enthusiastic. I like to make my gear myself and I like to compose, arrange, play, sing, produce, record, mix, and master all my music myself.
